Our Privacy-First Commitment

On-Device & Client-Side Processing

Most commercial apps send your personal photos and data to cloud servers for remote processing. OneBody Project takes a different approach:

  1. Local Text Extraction: Optical Character Recognition (OCR) reads the ingredients directly within your browser runtime.
  2. No Image Uploads: Product snapshots taken with your camera or uploaded from your photo library remain on your device and are discarded once text is parsed.
  3. Instant Analysis: We match ingredients against our clinical database in real-time without building a persistent identity profile for you.

What We Collect (And What We Don’t)

  • What We Don’t Collect: We do not collect names, passwords, phone numbers, location data, or payment information.
  • What Stays On Your Device: Your scan history, saved items, calculator metrics, and dietary preference toggles stay in localStorage.
  • Anonymized Technical Metrics: We use privacy-preserving analytics strictly to ensure site uptime, fast page loading, and device compatibility.

Managing and Erasing Your Data

Because your data is saved locally in your browser:

  • You can review all saved analyses anytime on the Saved Scans page.
  • You can remove individual scans or clear all saved records in one click.
  • Clearing your web browser cache will instantly and permanently erase all OneBody data from your device.
